Are you a recent graduate that has a keen interest in employment law or industrial relations? Are you looking to start your career in a dynamic role with a supportive and friendly team?
We are seeking a Graduate Employment and Industrial Relations Advisor to join our broader advisory team. You will sit in our well-established Employment and Industrial Relations team based in East Melbourne. The role will be advisory in nature – you will assist our members with their employment and industrial relations inquiries, principally over the phone or via email. This is an opportunity to be involved in helping our members to solve real world problems from day one.
Key Position Tasks:
The Graduate Employment and Industrial Relations Advisor will:
Interpret industrial instruments, like modern awards and enterprise agreements Advise about minimum rates of pay, allowances, loadings, penalties and other workplace entitlements Provide guidance on unfair dismissal, general protections and unlawful termination claims Draft, help negotiate and lodge enterprise agreements Liaise with stakeholders, including unions and other industry bodies Attend events, working groups and industry forums Key Skills, Attributes and Experience: Strong verbal and written communication Active listener with an attention to detail Inquisitive and a critical thinker Team player with good interpersonal skills Adaptable, dependable and resilient A tertiary qualification in law, industrial relations or human resources Interest in employment laws, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) What MBV can offer you: Flexible work arrangements – Hybrid work model, compressed working weeks, purchased annual leave Strong people engagement and values-based culture Paid parental leave, corporate partnerships, company wide lunches, events and activities
