Recognised globally as a leader in advanced control technology in the power generation sector, ComAp is a global organisation leading the way in providing smart power control solutions.We are seeking a Graduate Electrical and Control Systems (Design) Engineer to join us in our Brisbane office.About the roleThe Graduate Electrical and Control Systems (Design) Engineer is responsible for design, configuration, testing & commissioning support of ComAp control system projects throughout Australia and the Pacific.
Project applications are diverse and range from simple generator control systems to complex critical power system sites (e.g., Hospitals, Data centres or Isolated Network Power Stations).
ComAp is a leading supplier of Hybrid Energy Management systems, and as a result, this role requires an invested interest in multi-source power generation, including generators, solar, wind and storage components.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and delivery of effective and efficient project outcomes.Ability to develop and review control systems designs.End to end design of control systems.Identification, analysis and management of design issues and other risks that may adversely affect project delivery.Clear and accurate documentation of all aspects of projects, including risks, is undertaken.Review and evaluation of projects upon completion, with feedback and improvement opportunities reported to key internal stakeholders.Ensure projects are fault free and completed on time and on budget.Ensure project designs and delivery are in accordance with current relevant Australian standards, specifically: AS3000, AS3008, AS3010 & AS5033.Electrical Schematics (AutoCAD) are consistent with ISO standards.Effective liaison with all relevant stakeholders, specifically Technical staff, Sub Contractors, a diverse range of Customers, and the Sales team.Key RequirementsBachelors degree Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.Current C Class Driver's LicenceAutoCAD Electrical experience or theoretical knowledgePLC & SCADA Programming – IEC61131-3 (Function Block, Structure Text Experience Desired).Control System Theory & Experience - or an interest in learning.Power System Theory & Experience - or an interest in learning.Advanced competence using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).A collaborative and team oriented approach to working.A mindset geared towards continual improvement.Industrial communications knowledge and system development experience (Desirable).Please note, interstate or international travel may be required as part of this position.Why ComAp?You will join a growing global organisation with 13 subsidiary offices around the world, offering opportunities to collaborate globally, and with the potential for international travel.Working with ComAp will see you expand your skills and experience through working on a wide variety of projects and continuous learning and growth opportunities.We offer competitive remuneration with impressive packages on offer including variable pay initiatives.You will join an energised and highly collaborative team, working in a supportive environment with a unique corporate culture.ComAp designs and delivers smart control solutions for power generation and energy management that empower the world's transition to sustainable energy.
