The role will report to the Data Science Lead and collaborate with colleagues from across the PlayHQ business, including Product, Engineering, Finance and Community.
Your primary responsibility will be to support in the development of data products that enable both internal and external stakeholders – on any given day, you might be:Refactoring a model on our first party data platform, using dbt, Snowflake, Tableau or FivetranAnalysing user behaviour to help our Product team determine whether a new feature release was successfulRunning some SQL queries for the Finance team to calculate an invoiceThrowing together a quick Python script that polls data from a third-party websiteDefining success metrics with our Community team and building dashboards to track these over timeWorking with our Engineering team to design a data pipeline from a new service into our data platformRunning regressions and writing up analyses over participant churn and retention to inform our longer-term product strategyWhat We Are Looking For, In Technical SkillsExperience with data querying languages (e.g.
SQL), programming languages (e.g.
Python, Golang), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g.
R)Good understanding of the principles of data analysis, including exploratory data analysis, data cleaning and transformation, visualisation and transformationKnowledge of key statistical concepts (e.g.
