Graduate Actuarial Analyst (Home Pricing and Underwriting) About the role Kickstart your career as a Graduate Actuarial Analyst in our Home Pricing and Underwriting team! Your responsibilities will involve applying actuarial techniques to solve critical business problems, contributing to value creation, cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and best practice implementation. You'll have a hands-on role in developing effective, profitable rating and underwriting strategies.

Ways of working This role can be based either at our Sunshine Coast headquarters or in Fortitude Valley, with a hybrid work model that includes in-office presence from Tuesday to Thursday at your chosen location.
Key priorities Support the Actuarial team and company on pricing and underwriting decisions through accurate and timely data-driven analysis. Assist in evaluating portfolio composition, trends, and deviations from expected outcomes. Compile and prepare data for analysis, modelling, and technical review of predictive claims models. Present findings and recommend rate adjustments to management based on model insights. Implement changes in pricing and underwriting systems. Help design, refine, and deliver reports for various business functions. Collaborate with business units to ensure timely service for client underwriting referrals. Contribute to the improvement of systems, including pricing, underwriting, and broader sales and policy systems. About you Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related field. Progressing through actuarial exams is a plus. Some familiarity with general insurance concepts. Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of insurance data sources, limitations, and applications. Capable of handling large data sets with efficiency and independence. Exposure to predictive modelling is a bonus (e.g., GLM, machine learning). Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, SQL, or SAS. Effective team collaboration skills.
