A large casual dining hospitality group is currently seeking a Junior Accounts Administration candidate based in the iconic Bondi Beach head office.

The Role In the role of Graduate Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance function across the following Key Result Areas (KRA's):
Finance Processing, Reconciliation & General Administration - the crux of this role is to take overall responsibility for the daily takings and reconciliation across all of our venues including;
- entering daily takings into spreadsheets, entering, editing, and approving sales in Xero, reconciliation with bank statements, and effectively identifying and resolving discrepancies including communication and follow-up with managers
- Making sure the general ledger of accounts adjustment entries is correctly input into the system with compliance with the accounting standard and reviewed by Accounts Manager and Senior Accountant.
- Examining trail balance and draft financial statements covering everything from income through to expenditure for the company and analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company's financial health
- Preparing financial documents for a variety of stakeholders. (e.g. on-demand cash flow estimation requested by Director
- Organizing Accounting data for GST and preparation the draft of quarterly Business Activity
Accounts Payable /Receivable - accurate and timely processing of accounts payable/receivable is critical to the success of the team. This involves entering and payment processing of Supplier invoices in Xero, email follow-up with Kitchen & Bar Managers for any queries over the invoices and missing delivery confirmations, liaising with suppliers for any issues, credits or invoices required, accurate filing, stamping and record keeping of all entered invoices as well as timely and accurate management of month end reporting tasks including reconciliation of suppliers statement
Teamwork & Collaboration - outside the mechanics of this position is the responsibility to work as a cohesive and collaborative Head Office team. This includes assisting with general enquiries that come through to head office via phone or email, providing assistance to other team members to ensure prompt response to all enquiries, communicating effectively with other departments throughout the company, and assisting senior management as required/requested.
What You Need You have a MINIMUM of 2 year of commercial experience in accounts payable/receivable, administration or bookkeeping role as well as a basic level of computer skills across the Microsoft Office suite including Excel. You possess a high level of attention to detail and time management and enjoy working as part of a small team. Experience in using Xero is highly desired as is exposure to working in the Hospitality Industry.
