This is an exciting opportunity to establish a career in Finance and join our Brisbane team as a Finance Assistant.
We are currently seeking a highly driven graduate accountant to join our team in a full time capacity. This role would be ideally suited to someone in their final year of study/recently graduated or alternatively someone with existing bookkeeping experience and looking for an opportunity where they can truly make a mark on their role and the business, whilst being provided opportunities to develop further across the broader finance discipline.
About this role:
The graduate accountant provides support to the Finance Director and is responsible for the timely processing and delivery of financial information to other relevant parties as required. Assisting with month end task and reports, bank and journal reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable and liaise with third parties in relation to payments and other related issues, resolving issues as they arise.
Skills and Experience: Accounting backgroundWork experience as Finance Assistant/Finance Officer or similar roleGood knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping proceduresHigh level of IT literacy including intermediate Excel skills and knowledge of MS Office, along with demonstrated ability to learn other programs quicklyExperience in tax payments (GST, Payroll Tax, FBT)Previous use of SAP (preferred by not essential) Responsibilities include: End of month preparation including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations;Maintaining accuracy of the general ledger;Accounts Payable Management utilizing SAP Vendor Invoice Management;Assisting with internal control compliance;Providing variance month end reports including variance analysis;Assisting with year-end audit, budgeting and quarterly forecasts;Assisting with Taxation queries; andAssisting with various projects and business improvement initiatives. You Have: Strong attention to detail and accuracy;Self-management, organisational and time management skills;Analysis and problem-solving skills;Excellent written and oral communication skills; andAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
