Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll act as a trusted partner to managers across the business while leading HR and Payroll functions for the GCW Group of Companies.
Key Responsibilities Here's what you'll be doing in this multifaceted role:
Strategic HR Partnership: Collaborate with business leaders to align HR initiatives with organizational goals, driving measurable outcomes in performance management, development, and engagement. HR Leadership: Provide leadership and expert advice to the HR, Learning and Development, and Payroll teams, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment. Payroll Expertise: Manage end-to-end Payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, and other related requirements for both weekly and monthly runs. Continuous Improvement: Drive development and enhancement of internal systems, including Human Resources Information System (Kronos) and Learning and Development System (iLearn). Policy & Compliance: Oversee the development, review, and implementation of company HR and Payroll policies and employment, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with best practices. Training & Development: Assess employee training needs, design and facilitate programs, and monitor their success across the business. Industrial Relations Leadership: Provide guidance on performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary matters, while leading enterprise bargaining agreement (EBA) negotiations and other IR matters. Succession Planning: Support senior managers in identifying and developing critical roles and succession strategies. Employee Experience: Manage onboarding processes, benefits schemes, and recognition programs, contributing to a positive and engaging workplace culture. Representation & Advice: Act as a company representative on key committees, including superannuation, and provide trusted advice in external bodies such as the Fair Work Commission. About You You're a commercially savvy HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategic and operational challenges. You're resilient, adaptable, and skilled at building trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Essential qualifications and experience:
A tertiary HR qualification, coupled with proven experience in a similar leadership role. Expertise in EBA negotiation, advice, and interpretation. Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processing, compliance, and related functions. Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and managers. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire HR and Payroll teams. Proven experience providing guidance on industrial relations and strategy. Deep business acumen and the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership teams. Previous experience in configuration and maintenance of HRIS and L&D platforms. What's in it for You?
