This is a full-time (40 hours per week) fixed term role for a period of 3 years, which provides an opportunity to work in the beautiful heritage-listed Government House in the center of Perth.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning and coordination of a range of events and programs which support the official duties and priorities of the Governor. This includes the Vice Regal regional travel program, providing communications and media support as required.
Job Responsibilities Manages the planning and coordination of a diverse range of programs to support the official duties and priorities of the Governor. Pro-actively identify, build and maintain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally including Government, industry, and community groups. Take personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work and use initiative to engage in additional tasks as required. Understand the Governor's objectives and align operational activities accordingly. Maintain key project documentation and associated records, including plans, stakeholder registers, and correspondence. Confidently present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner and tailor communication styles accordingly to the audience's level of knowledge, skill and experience. Work collaboratively with the Senior Communications Specialist and provide support and assistance as required. Provide communications and media support. Perform duties as required to support Governor's Establishment events including but not limited to investitures, open day events, dignitaries and Vice Regal events. Other duties as required. Selection Criteria Demonstrated delivery of projects and events, including the ability to deliver agreed outcomes within specified timeframes. Proven ability to contribute to the achievement of project and team outcomes, individually and through collaboration and cooperation. Demonstrated time management, prioritisation and organisation skills. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team. Ability to be flexible and agile in a high pressure and constantly changing environment. Good conceptual, research, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in a communications and media role. A broad understanding of contemporary issues affecting the Western Australian community, and the role of Governor. Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role. Experience in developing and executing stakeholder engagement strategies. Proven report and speech writing ability.
