The Government Relations Manager will be instrumental in shaping policies and programs that promote equity for all cultural and community groups served by SydWest Multicultural Services.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement strategies for effective engagement with government officials, agencies, community groups, and stakeholders.Monitor legislative developments and policy changes that may impact the organisation or its constituents.Prepare briefing papers, reports, and presentations to communicate key issues to internal teams and external partners.Build coalitions with other organisations and community groups to strengthen advocacy efforts on relevant issues.Organise meetings, forums, and events to facilitate dialogue between government representatives and community members.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEGraduate or post-graduate qualifications in Government Relations, Social Policy, Communication, Journalism, or a related field.A minimum of 5 years' experience in government relations or policy advocacy roles.Proven track record of successful lobbying or influencing policy decisions.Experience working within multicultural communities or organisations and the non-profit sector.Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills including public speaking and representation at various forums and conferences.Analytical and able to present complex subjects in a clear and concise way to a variety of audiences and stakeholders.Strong negotiation, organizational, and project management skills.APPLYTo APPLY, please submit your resume along with cover letter addressing the selection criteria.Your application will include the following questions:Do you have experience working in the not-for-profit sector?Do you have a graduate or post-graduate qualifications in Government Relations, Social Policy, Communication, Journalism, or a related field?Do you have a minimum of 5 years' experience in government relations or policy advocacy roles?Do you have proven track record of successful lobbying or influencing policy decisions?
