Come and join Sunwater as our Government Relations Manager, reporting to the General Manager Corporate Affairs.
In this newly created position, you will lead a small team of government relations advisors to support the delivery of Sunwater's strategic goals by ensuring there is effective and appropriate engagement between the business and government stakeholders.
You will also:
Develop and implement a Government Relations Strategy for major infrastructure projects that proactively promotes and positions Sunwater to build confidence in its ability to deliver critical services across Queensland.Provide strategic advice on emerging government policy and guide the business through potential opportunities, impacts and consultation processes.Manage correspondence / parliament-related processes and provide strategic advice to the business on how best to leverage opportunities and mitigate impacts.Manage the development and delivery of key reports and planning deliverables including quarterly reports, Statement of Corporate Intent and Corporate Plan alongside the Corporate Communication team.We are seeking a talented and proactive professional with demonstrated technical skills and at least +10 years' experience in a government advisory role with an in-depth understanding of Queensland Government, parliamentary processes and major infrastructure projects.
You will have tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations or related discipline, have exceptional project management skills and highly developed leadership and management skills.
In addition, you will have:
Excellent relationship-building skills – ability to effectively collaborate with external stakeholders and internal business partners to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.Adaptable – strong issues mitigation and management skills.Influential – ability to coach and influence internal stakeholders.This role offers an attractive salary, 12.75% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance, ensuring you are well-rewarded for your dedication and hard work.
