Government Partnerships Specialist Exciting opportunity to work in our Development teamFull-time ongoing roleAbout this role: As a representative of Arts Centre Melbourne, the Government Partnerships Specialist will be responsible for researching to identify and secure potential government investment opportunities that support our organisation's mission and programs. You'll be adept at cultivating and managing strong relationships with government agencies and key external stakeholders, as well as working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to proposals, reports and government investment management.
Full time ongoing role. Salary band 4.2 $105,682.00 p.a. plus superannuation. Your Skills and Experience (Key Criteria) To be successful, you will have:
Demonstrated track record in securing government investment in the arts and creative industries, or in an allied sectorFamiliarity with the government landscape and funding opportunities in AustraliaTertiary qualification in Business Administration, Arts Management, Public Administration, or related fieldIndustry knowledge – industry expertise with direct involvement in the delivery of arts projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of the artistic processes and challenges essential for effective grant acquisitionRepresentation and external stakeholder engagement – ability to represent Arts Centre Melbourne and build strong and trusted relationships with influential government and industry stakeholdersStrategic communication – confident and experienced interpersonal and written communicator, with the ability to shape key messages for organisational priorities and fundingResearch and Analysis – Strong research and analytical skills. High level of organizational skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work to deadlinesCollaboration – team player with demonstrated experience working across multi-disciplinary teams and cross organisational functions to achieve resultsThe Arts Centre Melbourne program is made possible by a combination of state, federal and local government funding, self-generated income, philanthropy and corporate partnerships. The Development Team is responsible for cultivating strong relationships that lead to financial investment and support the organisation's wide-ranging cultural, education, access, commissioning, wellbeing, and collection programs.
The desire is to grow philanthropic, partnership and government contributions to further extend this reach and impact.

Philanthropy: Arts Centre Melbourne has a strong legacy of philanthropy. Two of our most significant programs were funded by and named after their benefactors – The Betty Amsden Participation Program and The Kenneth Myer Asian Theatre Series (now Asia TOPA).

A successful philanthropic Capital Campaign (Imagine Anew) will be critical to raising vital funding to make this vision a reality.
Arts Centre Melbourne acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we gather, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung. We also acknowledge the neighbouring Kulin Nation groups, the Boonwurrung and Bunurong people, and pay our respects to elders, past and present.
