Women's and Children's Health Network, Division of Paediatric Medicine – Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit – North Adelaide (5006) Classification - MD2 - Consultant / Senior Consultant – Salary - $227,591 - $299,884 (not inclusive of leave loading, superannuation, and any other monetary allowances as outlined in the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022). Employment – Full-Time - Temporary (10 February 2025 to 8 August 2025) - potential for longer term extension About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit as a Consultant/Senior Consultant – Clinical Geneticist. This opportunity would suit an experienced Clinical Geneticist or a recent FRACP graduate in Clinical Genetics who is keen to explore opportunities in a progressive Clinical Genetics service.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Providing expertise relating to clinical genetic services for genetic disorders of childhood and pregnancy-related genetic counselling within the Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit. Contributing to education and research within the Unit and encouraging and supporting teamwork amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes. About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. Experience in Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics clinical service provision. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships both internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the patient. Knowledge of current trends in relevant to clinical genetics and genetic counselling and a broader knowledge of service provision within the health system. What WCHN Can Offer You
