About the Role: The Senior Business Manager provides high-level support to the Director, Aboriginal Education in the provision of business strategy leadership and management that supports the delivery of Aboriginal Education objectives and strategies and related government policies and procedures. In particular, the role will lead the efficient and effective management, acquisition, and utilisation of human, financial, and physical resources within the broad scope of allocated program/project budgets and delegations.
The Manager provides expert and authoritative project management direction and advice to ensure significant and/or complex projects in Aboriginal Education are delivered on time and within budget. The role will work closely with senior staff to determine project visions, goals, outcomes, and priorities and is required to manage and coordinate the development and implementation of strategic projects and initiatives that significantly support the DE Aboriginal Strategy. The role manages various programs and grant payments including ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting requirements.
The role is required to establish and maintain credible relationships with DfE Offices, schools, State and Commonwealth Departments, and non-Government organisations through the establishment of appropriate consultation processes. The role is required to monitor, analyse, and report on major issues from a business perspective and identify Aboriginal education impacts and business strategy responses in the context of providing briefings and advice for senior management and executive.

Desirable Qualifications: Relevant post graduate qualifications. Special Conditions: The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration: ASO8 $121,107 - $125,679 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
