About the role:
As our Principal Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for the operational leadership of the Human Resources team, and a collaborative 2IC to the Human Resources Manager, to ensure the proactive delivery of human resources programs, projects and policies to drive successful outcomes across the department.
You will also partner with a portfolio of departmental executives and senior managers to develop, implement, and review HR programs, provide a high level industrial and employee relations advisory and consultancy service, including employee-related tasks such as counselling, recruitment and ensure compliance with employment and industrial provisions across the Team and Department.
More specifically, you will:
Lead the HR team in the delivery of HR services, relating to recruitment and onboarding, workforce programs, performance management and employee and industrial relations.
Establish, strengthen, and maintain strong and mutually respected business partnerships and relationships with executive management, directors, and senior leaders to facilitate the delivery of business outcomes.
Develop, lead, and strengthen the business partnering model by mentoring and working collaboratively with HR Business Partners to provide proactive and innovative HR services, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Provide specialist expertise and workforce analysis to business groups, and guidance and coaching to HR Business Partner/s, on ER and IR related matters including workforce planning, workforce programs, organisational reviews, restructures and change management.
Manage and resolve employee relations and efficient employee case management including the management of grievances, TVSPs, unassigned and excess employees, and performance and disciplinary matters.
Key Competencies:
To apply and succeed in the role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Experience in leading, coaching and motivating a team of HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and customer-centric work environment in a sustainable manner.
Significant knowledge and competence related to human resource and employee relations principles, practices within the SA Public Sector, including understanding of relevant legislation, Awards, EB Agreements, Commissioner's Determinations and Codes of Practice.
Proficiency in leading, managing, and coordinating complex HR case management, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Demonstrated experience in partnering with senior executive and leadership teams to design, develop, lead, implement and evaluate workforce programs, strategies, organisational reviews, design and change management.
You will also be able to:
Build strong working relationships, communicate, consult, and negotiate in a highly effective, flexible, and influential manner, including managing conflict with tact and diplomacy.
Think strategically, conceptually, and creatively and analyse and resolve complex business problems, at both strategic and operational levels.
Demonstrate exceptional customer service, initiative, and ability to proactively connect business areas with solutions.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary $108,109 to $116,864 pa plus superannuation

The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month term contract position.
