About this position The Government and Stakeholder Relations Adviser drives the development of key government reports and manages important relationships with government, sector, and community stakeholders.
Guided by the Government and Stakeholder Relations Lead, the role works to ensure Beyond Blue's contractual obligations to The Commonwealth and state and territory governments are met in full.
The position creates opportunities to highlight Beyond Blue services, and to engage and develop new, productive, and meaningful relationships.
The role includes communications, project management and administrative duties as well as the representation of Beyond Blue at sector conferences and other events.
The role The position works to deliver all five Beyond 2023+ Strategy goals – Understanding, Supporting, Connecting, Leading and Integrity – through strong government and stakeholder relations to help us improve mental health and make it easier for people to feel better earlier, get well and stay well.
Key duties include: Government reporting and accountability Lead the development of all government reporting activities, coordinating input from across Beyond Blue and delivering high quality reports within contracted deadlines.
Support the Government and Stakeholder Relations Lead to manage government relationships, contracts, and obligations.
Leverage opportunities to present Beyond Blue programs, services and insights to stakeholders as directed Provide advice and organisational support to the Strategic Engagement Unit on Government and Stakeholder Relations Lead's direction, including information for Board reports, presentations, briefs, correspondence, facilitating teleconferences and face to face meetings, and providing relevant information to internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder management and support Support the Strategic Engagement team to implement a stakeholder relations framework that proactively identifies, approaches, manages and refers stakeholders for opportunities on behalf of the organisation.
Support the Government and Stakeholder Relations Lead to execute government engagement activities and build on this area.
Directly manage relationships with identified internal and external stakeholders, keeping relevant parts of the organisation appraised of outcomes/opportunities.
Support the coordination and management of cross-functional working groups across Beyond Blue.
About you To be successful, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in communications, community engagement, policy or similar.
Experience in a similar or transferrable role preferable Must have an interest in Government Relations or Government Relations experience; experience managing government contracts, is desirable.
Stakeholder/relationship management – experience managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Project management – strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously to a high quality, by deadline.
Experience managing contracts would be an advantage.
Written excellence – high attention to detail, with excellent written communication skills and ability to distil complex concepts in clear terms.
Collaboration – capacity to work with others on mutual projects and foster collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
