This merit list or pool may be used to fill other vacancies anywhere in Australia.For more information about Merit Lists or Merit Pools please go to APSC's website - The APS Merit Principle.The Internal Governance Section is responsible for high-level oversight of planning, coordination, event management, and the delivery of end-to-end secretariat support for DVA's Tier 1 and Tier 2 internal governance committees and forums, including:Executive BoardInvestment CommitteePeople and Culture CommitteeService Delivery CommitteeStrategic Leadership GroupThe section also provides advice to internal stakeholders, including senior management, in relation to responsible governance policy and processes. This includes conducting reviews of existing processes or frameworks and providing recommendations on changes to the Department's governance framework to increase business efficiency.The key duties of the position include:Mailbox coordination and management;Meeting preparation;Event management and IT/technical services;Post-meeting administrative tasks;Undertaking coordination responsibilities for the Section;Prepare meeting packs (hard and electronic copy);Liaise with program areas and other key stakeholders, both internal and external to DVA regarding inputs to and outcomes from the various meetings;Monitor workload to meet timeframes and processes;Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing and other material as required;Provide assistance to other secretariat teams in undertaking their roles;Undertake proactive continuous improvement and learning and development;Other duties as determined to support business operations outcomes.Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.NotesThis recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and/or non-ongoing position/s. For more information about the role, please see the Candidate Information Pack.Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months. A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
