As a Service Technician you will ensures continuous operation of our system - keeping correct parameters for the system, ensure feeding of organic waste to our hungry maggots, unblocking systems, problem solve a wide variety of technical issues and maintain site safety and cleanliness.We're seeking motivated technicians who likes problem solving and continuous improvements. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESEnsuring the continuous operation of Goterra's plant and machinery, including equipment used to process organic (food) waste and farm and process insects.Conducting daily service inspection of robotic units and supporting mechanical infrastructureConducting planned and reactive servicing and maintenance of plant and machinery.Conducting mechanical, electrical and electronic system checks Operating machinery used to manage material flow through the waste management system, including - forklift, conveyor, depackaging machine, pumps, macerators and Modular Biological Unit (MIB).Determining the density of insect neonates to be used in the MIBS through sampling and calculations to maximize organic waste consumption.Operate pumps and other machinery to manage material flow through the systemDetermining the density of insect neonates to be used in the MIBS through sampling and calculations to maximize organic waste consumption.Undertake basic fault finding and troubleshooting in response to service issuesRemove material contaminants and blockages when neededMaintain site cleanliness on a daily basisDocumenting service incidents and responses and communicating service status updates to the team. KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEA strong technical/mechanical background from previous positions heldBasic mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn and understand new systems The ability to understand, perform and follow production sequence, workflows, samples collection and data recording. Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and fault-finding processes from problem identification through to resolution, including record keeping and reporting. Demonstrated ability to develop operational protocols and documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Safe Work Method Statements and operational checklists/guidelines. A commitment to learning and developing new skills and knowledge required for the role and ongoing development Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively use communication skills to collaborate and work effectively within the team, across Departments and with external stakeholders such as clients and contractors.
