Gunnedah Golf Club is seeking expressions of interest from qualified Golf Professionals. Our course is a quality par 70 bent green course, and we are looking to continue the growth achieved by our departing Professional.
This is retainer-based with numerous incentives on offer. The RoleReporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery of a first-class golf experience to members and guests.
The success of golf at Gunnedah Golf Club will be driven by extensive industry knowledge and an understanding of what it takes to deliver golf experiences. You will have the ability to lead with impact, supporting a welcoming culture when golfers visit.
Essentials/DesirableProven experience in a senior golf operations role, such as Director of Golf or Head Professional preferable but not essential.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a member-first focus.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and events.Passion for golf with a deep understanding of industry trends.Ability to drive member engagement and growth through innovative programs.Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, inventory, and pro shop operations.Ability to build and encourage strong working relationships with management and members.Ability to inspire and motivate the Club values and elevate the service experience for members to new heights.Possess a high level of business ethics and integrity.First aid certificate, WWCC, Intermediate to advanced computer skills.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: An exceptional leader, ideally a PGA professional, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in managing, leading and developing a team in a similar environment.Lead daily golf operations, including managing tee sheets, pro shop, and equipment.Coordinate and implement a comprehensive golf events calendar, overseeing competitions, tournaments, and member engagement activities.Foster strong relationships with members, prioritising customer service and satisfaction.Manage pro shop inventory, merchandising, and budget to ensure profitability.Deliver a professional club fitting and repair service.Drive the current development of juniors, as well as assist with membership recruitment and retention initiatives.Collaborate with the course superintendent to maintain the course to the highest standards.Work with the General Manager to align golf operations with the club's strategic goals.Ensure compliance with all club policies and industry standards.What we have to offer!In return, you will receive a competitive retainer and an engaging working environment, including other incentives driven by your efforts which would be most rewarding.
