Da Carlo Pty Ltd T/A Molto Italian seeks a skilled chef to join their team at the Element Building in Kingston ACT. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for designing and refining menus, preparing and cooking Italian dishes, training staff, and ensuring food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to create menus that reflect authentic Italian flavours and seasonal ingredientsTake charge of preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes, adhering to recipes and portion standardsTrain and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they understand kitchen procedures and cooking techniquesMonitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredientsAssist in daily kitchen operations, including scheduling and workflow managementWork closely with front-of-house team and managers to accommodate special requests and dietary requirementsRequirements:Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not mandatory)Diploma in Hospitality Management (preferred but not mandatory)At least 2 years of experience as a Chef in an Italian restaurant or similar dining environmentIn-depth knowledge of Italian cuisine, including pasta making and traditional Italian cooking methodsStrong leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate a diverse kitchen teamSalary and Benefits:$76,000 per year plus 11.5% superannuation, working 38 hours per week in a full-time role.
