Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Radiation Protection Consultant to join our Environmental Protection Department.
This role is essential in guiding and improving our operations related to ionizing radiation protection.
As a key member of our team, you will contribute your expertise in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide consultancy on all aspects of ionizing radiation protection pertinent to company operations.
Monitor compliance in the use of radiation sources and operations involving Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM).
Identify and implement innovative technologies to enhance radiation protection.
Review, approve, and monitor radiation protection procedures, encompassing both man-made and natural radiation sources.
Conduct awareness and training sessions on radiation protection issues.
Develop methods and procedures for NORM waste operations.
Establish standards, procedures, and guidelines for man-made radiation sources and NORM operations.
Engage in applied research for NORM handling and disposal.
Assess potential risks related to workers' exposure and disposal of NORM waste.
Train and develop radiation protection professionals within the company.
Requirements:
BSc in Health Physics or a related science discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in operational radiation protection and health physics.
Profound knowledge of radiation detection and measurement, radiometric analysis techniques, international radiation protection standards, operational radiation protection controls, radiation dosimetry regimes, and management/control of NORM.
Awareness of Non-Ionizing Radiation Sources.
