Overview of the Role Our Australia Institutional Sales team is seeking an AVP to support Nuveen Australia's growing client base out of the Sydney, Australia office.The successful candidate would focus on developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with the firm's Australian clients whilst contributing more broadly with larger global relationships.The individual will support our growing Institutional presence in Australia, promoting a wide suite of investment solutions. The firm will support the successful candidate development with training in product knowledge, process & systems, relationship management and other key skills.Key responsibilities will include:Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to broaden Nuveen's institutional client base across Australia. This includes overseeing all institutional client requests and coordinating and leading periodic investment catch-ups with investors.Ongoing maintenance of client list and associated mandates, including for example: fee terms and documentation of committed vs. called capital.Partner with the Australia team to plan strategic roadshows for stakeholders in region, including providing preparation notes to support individual discussions.Explore opportunities and drive pipeline generation across Nuveen's investment capabilities, including attending conference and networking events.Identify, coordinate and lead effective client meetings and engagement activity. Continue to build and develop existing client relationships.Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Nuveen to progress business opportunities, including Product, Client Services, and Investment teams.Use of Hearsay via Linkedin to promote Nuveen and its investment capabilities.Business planning, strategy development and quarterly delivery of the Distribution section of the Australia Board papers.Proficient use of Salesforce to capture client opportunities, client contacts, data room access requests, RFIs and DDQs.Technical Skills & Qualifications Required:Good understanding of the Australian insurance and superannuation markets including key industry trends and developments.Familiarity with key regulatory, capital and accounting regimes impacting insurers and superannuation companies operating in the Australian market.Demonstrable track record within institutional sales support.Established network of key decision makers within Australia preferred.Track record of building strong working partnerships and effectively managing client expectations.Solid product and investment knowledge in Alternatives investing.Salesforce proficiency preferred.Relevant level 4 FCA recognised qualification essential e.g. IMC, CFA level 1, CAIA level 1 or CIIA.Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree preferable.Self-motivated individual, with the ability to take ownership to ensure outcomes are achieved.Competencies Required:Act in line with Nuveen's Company ValuesExcellent communications skills (both written and oral)Delivering results and expectationsEntrepreneurial and commercial thinkingFormulating strategies and conceptsRelating and networkingPersuading and influencingWorking with peopleThis role requires no regulatory designation.Nuveen is committed to providing equal opportunity across all employment practices and we believe our employees have a right to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
