United Wambo Joint Venture (UWJV) is an Open Cut coal mine located 16 kilometres west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. UWJV is a 50:50 joint venture between United Collieries (Glencore and MEU) and Wambo Coal (Peabody). We commenced operation in 2020, and we are forecast to produce up to 10 million tonnes per annum of thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal until 2042.
In 2022, UWJV was awarded NSW Mining 'Operation of the Year.'
Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, and as an integral member of the team, the primary purpose of this role is to maintain a cost-effective warehouse which meets the operational and commercial needs of the operation. Coordinating a team to deliver efficient purchasing practices and stock management is a critical part of this role.
To be successful in this role, you will have to be able to demonstrate the following:
A commitment to working safely, Proven ability to lead a team, Strong communication and influencing skills, Warehousing and purchasing management experience, Extensive SAP knowledge - including Inventory Control in a mining/heavy engineering environment. This role requires an individual prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a fully involved and hands-on approach.
