Glencore Coal Assets Australia is presenting an exciting opportunity to join Business Development and be part of the team that drives strategic decision making across the Australian coal business. As one of Australia's largest producers of export coal, with 13 operational mines across New South Wales and Queensland, the nature of the work is highly varied and suitable for those who wish to be challenged in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. This role provides diverse exposure to the entire coal chain and the ability to influence business decision making at the highest level.
This role is a key position in the team responsible for the identification and evaluation of M&A opportunities, internal business development strategies, portfolio optimisation, and other strategic planning initiatives. Reporting to the Manager - Business Analysis, your role will focus on providing high-quality analytical assessments to support the business.
With formal qualifications in engineering or commerce/finance and substantial experience in a technical or commercial role in the resources industry, you will have a superior working knowledge of financial analysis techniques and an ability to identify key value drivers. This is a small team with a broad working scope, and you will need to be able to confidently apply your existing skills to new situations.
Your strengths include exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and an ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment. You must be good with numbers and proficient at developing and critically reviewing financial models. Competency in XERAS and Mining software (XPAC, Spry, Deswik etc.) will be highly regarded as will prior experience in a similar role.
