The Role
Queensland Metals is actively seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor for Mount Isa Mines in North West Queensland.
This fantastic opportunity is offered on a family friendly 5/2:4/3.
This position reports directly to the Superintendent- Environment.
The role will be leading a large team of environmental professionals across one of the most diverse mining complexes in Australia.
The position will be responsible for all environmental and compliance aspects relating to the environmental authority, communicating with operational areas and key stakeholders, responsible for a budget and capital management and delivering projects to ensure environmental compliance.
Responsibilities include (however not limited to):
Environmental management to ensure alignment and compliance with the Environmental Authority Leadership of a large environmental team (multiple reports) Effective stakeholder engagement across a diverse mining complex Management of the environmental monitoring network and function Management of the environmental budgeting, forecasting and reporting Facilitation of internal and external environmental reporting Adherence to Glencore HSEC standards and procedures Environmental project scoping, management and reporting
About You:
Environmental management experience preferably in the mining industry (5 years) Degree or higher in Environment Science, Agriculture or Natural Resource Management High levels of communication and stakeholder engagement across a diverse group Working knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Legislation and other applicable legislation including Australian Standards and experience in managing environmental authorities and approvals Experience working in remote work environments Experience in supervision and mentoring of staff including contractor management
