Strategium is seeking an experienced GIS Project Manager – Geospatial System Upgrade (with 15+ years' experience) to join our team. This is a Darwin role with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of the company. Location of work Darwin initially then remote work would be considered. If not Darwin-based, then travel is required as part of the role.Project Overview:We are seeking an experienced GIS Project Manager to oversee a multi-year project aimed at upgrading the geospatial system (ESRI) for a major energy company in the Northern Territory. The project will involve transitioning from the geometric data model to the more advanced utility network data model and will be a key enabler for improving field work asset management and outage management across multiple utility services.Key Responsibilities:Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a multi-year GIS upgrade project.Oversee the upgrade of the existing ESRI-based GIS system from the geometric data model to the utility network data model.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, constraints, and the impact of the GIS upgrade on field operations, asset management, and outage management.Ensure the GIS system supports field work activities, asset management, and outage management processes by integrating with other enterprise systems and workflows.Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure the project is delivered on time and within scope.Coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and GIS specialists to ensure a smooth migration to the new utility network data model, minimizing disruptions to business operations.Provide technical oversight and guidance on system architecture, data migration, and integration with other systems, ensuring optimal performance and usability.Lead project governance efforts, including regular updates and reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.Key Requirements:Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically managing GIS projects in large-scale, complex environments, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS systems, including both the geometric data model and utility network data model.Demonstrated expertise in managing multi-year, multi-phase projects involving geospatial systems used for field work asset management, outage management, and other utility services.Solid understanding of data migration strategies, integration challenges, and best practices related to GIS systems.Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate diverse teams and communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve project risks.Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and resources across multiple teams.GIS certification (e.g., GISP).Familiarity with utility network data model migration processes.Experience working in energy or utilities infrastructure projects.Lives in Darwin or willing to relocate to NT - while this is not mandatory, it is very desirable.What we offer:Competitive salary and performance-based bonusesOpportunities for career development and ongoing trainingFlexible work arrangements and a focus on work-life balanceComprehensive health and wellness initiativesA collaborative and supportive team environmentTravel may be requiredAbout us:Strategium-Act Pty Ltd is a leading professional services firm.
