As a member of the Launch Vehicles department, the Chemical Engineer I 's purpose is to develop and optimise processes and related infrastructure according to Gilmour Space Technologies requirements.
Document and communicate across teams to ensure duties are performed in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.

How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space: The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play.
There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
Establish plant and process to produce materials required for launch activities, such as, Hydrogen Peroxide, Hydrocarbons, Polymers and Ablative Materials whilst adhering to safety legislation and local regulation.
Manage and optimise cleaning processes of hardware for use with liquid propellant service (Hydrogen peroxide, liquid oxygen, and kerosene).
Experiment with and create solid rocket motors.
Maintain proper documentation of all designs, drawings and test plans.
Work on research and development on a small number of solid motor ingredients.
Work with a group of cross-discipline engineers on other non-fuel components of the motors.
Conduct and review solid rocket motor engine tests and produce test reports.
Support external suppliers, where required, to improve quality and supply assurances.
Working with design and manufacturing engineers to develop and optimise production processes.
Ongoing technical support of plant and process.
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's (B.S.)
degree in Chemistry, Process or Chemical Engineering.
Experience with catalysts and electrochemical production.
Working experience in a processing facility, ideally handling dangerous goods.
Working experience with relevant Australian Standards (AS4326, AS1894).
Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.
