What does being a Graduate mean for you?
Outside of the technical development you'll gain through working within your team, you'll also join GHD's two year Graduate Development Program. The Graduate Program will connect you with peers across Australia, New Zealand, the broader Asia Pacific region and the Middle East.
We offer optional rotations in the second year of your program to help explore your career pathway, a structured approach to promotions and salary reviews over your first two years and a culture that is friendly, inclusive and not built on hierarchy.
Who are we looking for?
Our Victorian Geotechnical Engineering & Geosciences group has an opportunity for a Graduate Geologist / Engineering Geologist to join one of our Victorian offices (Melbourne, Mildura, Geelong or Albury/Wodonga office), as part of our 2025 Graduate Program.
GHD is proud to have one of Australasia's largest cohorts of Geologists/Engineering Geologists supporting geological and ground engineering practices. Our clients utilise more than 350 specialist geoscience professionals, including engineers, geologists, geophysicists and hydrogeologists who provide comprehensive investigation and design services, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects. We also work closely with our international teams to deliver best for project solutions.
We're looking for individuals who:
Have recently graduated, or are in their final semester of a degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science or similar disciplines
Have an interest in working in the field of geology and the consulting industry
Exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills
Are keen to get out onsite frequently during the first years of your career
You'll have the opportunity to be involved in:
A variety of dynamic and multidisciplinary projects within Victoria and interstate, including projects aligned with Australia's energy transition such as pumped hydro projects
Geological mapping
Site-based geological investigations
Developing geological models based on literature reviews and investigation results, including 3D geological modelling
Landslide and coastal risk assessments
Assisting in the preparation of technical reports
Activities that will enable you to connect in with a wider team of professionals to share insights, knowledge and improve your overall technical capabilities
What does the rest of GHD's process look like?
Once we receive your application, it will be reviewed by one of our Talent Acquisition (TA) team members who manage each of our regions. From there, our recruitment process includes:
A Video Interview, where you'll get the chance to introduce yourself and make another positive impression on both our TA team and hiring managers.
Formal interviews, either in person or via MS Teams. Prior to our interview we'll also ask you to go through some online testing through one of our providers, Saville.
An offer, where we'll go through your salary package and the start date for our program, as well as flagging our background checking process.
