We are on the lookout for an experienced qualified heavy vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our tight-knit, merry band of adventure travel-loving staff. We are a family-run sightseeing bus tour business with an incredible team culture that makes work an enjoyable place to be. We look after our people and you'd be hard-pressed to find a warmer, friendlier group of people who love what they do.
This is a multifaceted role enjoying plenty of variety. You'll most likely consider yourself a Swiss army knife, adaptable and able to tackle a variety of challenges the rugged NT throws at you. You might be considering a move to where the people are friendly and your skills are truly valued.
You'd enjoy the perks of being able to travel the outback in this role as well as the occasional flight to Red Centre to oversee or assist maintenance jobs on the fleet.
The workshop is right in the city with plenty of parking.
About the Fleet We are an adventure sightseeing bus tour operator and run the following vehicles:
Toyota Landcruiser's & Prado's Yutong D7 and D9 midi coaches Workshop You'd have your own secure workshop to play with, the workshop is onsite where the small fleet of busses are kept in the depot.
Roles and Responsibilities Although a large component of this role is to keep the fleet running smoothly, it's also to help manage the daily operational components of the business in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
The role enjoys an incredible amount of variety and requires someone who's adaptable and eager to wear a few different hats as a small-medium business requires.
Conduct regular service & maintenance repairs on a bus fleet and trailers as required by regulation. Be able to carry out appropriate safety inspections at required intervals. Engine & transmission work (usually service only) A large variety of ad hoc repairs as required Updating records in our maintenance management system Safari camp maintenance and repairs Ordering parts, consumables and maintaining stock control Maintaining the serviceability of camping equipment Daily assistance with operations crew. Minimum Requirements: Be an experienced qualified Diesel Mechanic Have a driver's licence & own reliable transport Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team Be self-motivated Show absolute attention to detail Be flexible with working hours.
