You will be part of our accomplished Geotechnical and Tunneling section and will work alongside our established team of Geotechnical technical experts, assisting in bidding and delivering successful projects.
Your technical expertise will be deployed across projects in the transport, energy, water, mining, property and government sectors to continue the growth of an already successful and reputable capability.

Geotechnical & Tunnels:
Across Australia WSP employs a 400+ strong team of geotechnical, geological and tunneling consultants.?Our WA Geotechnical team is the state's largest geotechnical team and consists of passionate and experienced geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists and geoscientists, operating from offices in Perth CBD.
You will also work alongside industry leading in-house Perth based capabilities in geophysics, environmental services and in-house geotechnical laboratories.
As part of the national Geotechnical and Tunnels team, you have the both of both worlds – solving client's technical challenges (large and small) on geotechnically led projects, as well as the ability to work on major projects with Australia's largest multi-disciplinary firms in the transport, mining and energy sectors.
What you'll do :
You will become a part of a successful geotechnical team and will work with mid-level and senior geotechnical professionals to provide strong technical guidance and oversight to projects within the local team.
You believe in striving to offer best practice geotechnical consulting services to clients, throughout Western Australia, nationally and?with opportunities to lead and collaborate on international projects.
Your passion and technical expertise will be deployed across a number of diverse projects, and will expose you to a variety of industries, such as transport,?ports, mining, renewable energy, property and buildings, and also government sectors to further continue the growth of an already successful and reputable local geotechnical capability.
A full position description is available on request, but a snapshot of your day to day will look like (but not be limited to):
Provide technical advice on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal staff and deliver best practice consulting services;
Managing and delivering geotechnical field investigations across a wide range of sectors
Participate in industry groups as part of maintaining high an industry profile;
Manage, analyse and carry out geotechnical reporting for projects
Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazards;
Participate in training activities, mentor and transfer knowledge to other geotechnical engineers;
Help prepare tenders, proposals and reports for clients; and
Guide, participate and support stakeholder engagement activities
About you:
A civil engineering or engineering geology degree
Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with experience in geotechnical consulting considered favourably
Experience in undertaking and managing geotechnical field investigations for small to large size geotechnical projects, including soil and rock logging
Demonstrated experience in the preparation / review of written technical reports and client communications
Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design including rock/soil/structure interaction
A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
A willingness to travel regionally and nationally for up to 14 days at a time.
