GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERSALL LEVELS -SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCEOpportunities exist for Geotechnical Engineers of all levels to join a well-established geotechnical consultancy providing expert engineering geology, engineering geomorphology, and geotechnical engineering services.
Working on large-scale mining projects from conception to operation and all stages in between, engineering geology has been applied to advance and de-risk a range of significant infrastructure projects including ore processing facilities, non-processing infrastructure, corridors (rail, roads, conveyors, power transmission, and pipelines), and port developments and expansions.
The engineering geology team is managed by leading practitioners with more than 30 years of experience and works closely with geotechnical engineers and analysts.Responsibilities (as appropriate to level of experience) include:Take accountability for the occupational health and safety of your work areas, and for their compliance with company, client, and statutory requirements.Proposal/bid preparation and management including addressing scope, contract requirements, schedule development, costing, identifying and verifying appropriate sub-contractors, writing, and reviewing.Conduct and/or provide input to risk analyses to identify critical geo-risks and uncertainties and investigation and/or management strategies to deal with them.Assist with planning and project management of geotechnical studies from site selection through detailed design, construction, and operation.Conduct geotechnical site investigations including desktop studies, engineering geological mapping and logging, supervision of ground investigation programmes including geotechnical drilling, test pitting, bulldozer costeans, geophysical surveys, and site trials and in-situ testing.Analyse/provide input to the analyses of the stability of slopes in cuttings (through rock and soil) and embankments, foundations including providing recommendations on appropriate foundation systems, pavements for roads, rail earthworks, and airstrips, and identification of sources of the various types of fill required for projects.To be successful for the position you must have:Tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology / Geological Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering.A commitment to meeting the requirements of Quality Management and Safety systems.Understanding of AS1726 requirements.Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of project personnel.A full manual WA drivers licence (or eligibility to obtain).Ability to travel to site, often on short notice.A desire to be involved in a range of dynamic, large-scale, fast-track projects where the application of engineering geology is contributing to their success.If this role isn't right, but you are interested in a confidential discussion please contact Grant on 0477 032 127 or email your updated CV to ****** to register for live roles.
