Who are we looking for? GHD has one of Australasia's largest Geotechnical practices with more than 200 geoscience professionals, including engineers, geologists, geophysicists and hydrogeologists providing comprehensive investigation and design services.
We also have a long history in regional Victoria, and now have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Victorian Mining team in our Traralgon office.
This role will provide a balance of technical work, project management and opportunities for business development and involve site-based work in the Latrobe Valley.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of projects within a diverse and passionate Mining team.
You will be managing projects as well as designing and reviewing geotechnical work to provide our clients with support in delivering projects benefitting their communities.
As this role is based in our Traralgon office, and often requires site-based work, there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be based within the wider Latrobe Valley region.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Working with a wide range of experienced and highly qualified geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, geologists and mining professionals. Contribute to the delivery of projects, ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard. Undertaking fieldwork activities commensurate with your experience level as business requirements dictate. Undertake interpretation and analysis of data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions including geotechnical analyses and modelling. Client interaction through pursuit, tendering and delivery phases of projects, along with great opportunities to take on business development tasks in our relationship-oriented business. Working with team members to build and develop both your and their skills to ensure the continuing success of the team. What would you bring to the team? Relevant tertiary qualifications, together with consulting experience in the geotechnical analysis and design space. 3+ years industry experience, ideally within mining; however, heavy industry/water utility etc.
