Barnson is a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy firm with offices located in Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Mudgee, Orange, Sydney, and Tamworth.
We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Orange Office.
This role will require you to undertake various geotechnical services including fieldwork, geological assessment, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Assess work requirements, resource needs, and implement scheduling of all projects undertaken by the company and assigned to you, in order to meet or exceed deadlines;
Undertake field geological testing and make geological assessments of sites as required;
Liaise with other employees to ensure effective design development;
Liaise with clients;
Classify sites and make suitable recommendations for:
- Residential buildings 2-3 storeys and detached single story buildings as described in AS2870;
- Low to medium rise buildings for residential or commercial use;
- Commercial and industrial buildings.
To be considered for the role you will have:
Qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering;
Minimum of three years experience in Australia in regard to geotechnical investigation fieldwork and inspections;
Capability to undertake physical work;
Ability to write geotechnical reports;
General Induction Card (White Card);
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines;
Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards;
Current drivers licence.
Annual salary for this position will be assessed based on the skills and knowledge of the successful applicant.
