You will be working with a supportive team of engineering geologists, civil and geotechnical engineers who are leaders in their field. SLR also understands that tailings management is a multidisciplinary field where you will have the opportunity to interact and work with industry-leading professionals in civil engineering, geochemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology, environment, and closure.Our Brisbane Geotechnical and Mine Waste Engineering team is a team of multi-disciplinary professionals who work with clients across Australia on a range of Geotechnical and Tailings Dam projects. We support the learning and development of each other as a team including active engagement in conferences and industry bodies, and a company-wide mentoring program available to all. Key ResponsibilitiesAs part of our dynamic national team, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range in assisting with preparing tenders and proposals, providing technical advice to clients and colleagues, and working in a combination of office-based and fieldwork activities. You will be supported by senior consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of geotechnical methods and techniques to solve complex problems. At any time you could be working on a range of technical tasks, including:
Geotechnical investigations and CharacterisationEngineering geological and geomorphological terrain evaluationLandslide / Slope Risk AssessmentSlope Stability AnalysisGround Improvement and Remediation DesignTailings Dam design, management, and operationInstrumentation and monitoring data interpretationConstruction QA/QCProject Management and deliveryExperienceThe successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
Between 2-6 years' hands-on experience with tertiary qualifications in Geology, Geotechnical or Civil EngineeringExcellent report writing and communication and demonstrated experience delivering on time and on budgetMust have an excellent attitude and be capable of working within a dynamic environmentWell-developed creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving skillsMotivation for continuous improvement and professional developmentPost-graduate qualifications are advantageousExperience with Tailings Storage Facilities is advantageousOur BenefitsWhether you're working in the office, from home or a mix of the two, we recognise that every person is different, and our benefits aim to ensure that we cater for all, including:
