Canberra, Sydney or Brisbane - Hybrid Role

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
As a Geospatial Analyst, you work within the Data team to prototype, design, quality assure and develop specification to further the value we can bring to the economy through the provision of high-quality national data products and services. The ideal candidate is passionate about furthering the Australian geospatial sector, possesses strong communication skills and is committed to delivering high-quality results. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Geoscape Australia's success and be part of a stimulating and supportive work environment.
You'll bring:
2+ years of experience in similar roles or tertiary level qualifications in geospatial science.
Excellent communication skills, including both written and oral communication.
A strong understanding of spatial data concepts including geometry validity, datums, coordinate systems, and spatial relationships.
Experience applying these skills to create high quality data outputs.
Experience working with spatial databases including querying spatial data with SQL.
Strong collaboration skills with technical and commercial stakeholders.
A passion for staying up to date on industry trends and best practices.
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience with:
Our geospatial applications including FME, ArcGIS, PostgreSQL, and QGIS.
Experience working with Geoscape Data products.
Experience working with imagery and their derived products including acquisition, quality assurance, and transformation.
