The opportunity ASIO is seeking to fill Geospatial Analyst positions in Canberra (preferred), Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide locations.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position.
This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities As a Geospatial Analyst, you will: Assist with the development, implementation and delivery of the enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS).
Provide platform support and end user engagement to optimise the use of Arc GIS to provide the greatest value for ASIO.
The Geographical Information Systems team is responsible for support of the enterprise geospatial platform and Esri's Arc GIS.
The team consists of technical experts developing, implementing and maintaining ASIO's geospatial capabilities and working closely with business areas to ensure they align with organisational priorities.

Required Skills The ability to apply GIS capabilities to meet organisational needs.
An advanced understanding and proficiency in using Arc GIS for interpreting and analysing locational data.
Demonstrated experience in developing and testing enterprise Arc GIS web-maps and applications to visualise data.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Experience with geospatial data management.
Experience in support and maintenance of the Arc GIS platform.
A demonstrated ability to gather geospatial data requirements to meet business needs.
Other Desirable Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in using, delivering and supporting GIS systems such as Arc GIS, preferably within an operational environment.
Experience processing and transforming geospatial data.
Experience in Python.
Experience in liaising with customer areas and translating their objectives into geospatial data and capability requirements.
Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
A demonstrated ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with others.
Knowledge and experience with Esri's Arc GIS software.
Knowledge and experience with FME software.
Knowledge of Data Life-cycle concepts such as: Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.
Data warehousing.
Business Intelligence (BI).
