DEVELOP (ASX: DVP) will utilise the power of people to produce clean metals and help decarbonise the world.DEVELOP has a hybrid business model - Mine Ownership and Mining Services Strategy.The first of these centres on the exploration and production of future facing metals. As part of this, the Company owns the Sulphur Springs copper-zinc-silver project in Pilbara region of WA. This project is currently the focus of ongoing exploration to grow the inventory and various development studies. We then have ownership of Pioneer Dome Lithium Project in WA's Goldfields region.DEVELOP also owns the Woodlawn zinc-copper project in NSW. Woodlawn, comprises an underground mine, a significant JORC Resource and Reserve and a new processing plant.The second plank of DEVELOP's strategy centres on the provision of underground mining services. As part of this, DEVELOP has agreements to provide underground mining services to:Bellevue Gold's (ASX: BGL), Bellevue Gold Project;Mineral Resources Limited's (ASX: MIN), Mt Marion Lithium Mine; andThe Opportunity:DEVELOP currently have an opportunity for a Geology Superintendent to join the growing team at our Woodlawn Copper Zinc Mine located in Tarago, NSW.The Geology Superintendent reports to the Woodlawn Underground Manager and is supported by the Group Geology Manager. The primary role will provide leadership and guidance to the Geology team and facilitate the mine geology function within the Mining department.Your main responsibilities will include:Work closely with the Underground Manager and Group Geology Manager to deliver on the Woodlawn Mine restart and commissioning strategy;Build and develop a technically strong mine geology team that is confident in their understanding of the Woodlawn ore body and driven to achieve best performance;Lead the geology function on the Woodlawn site ensuring that information and updates are provided through the appropriate reporting channels;Liaise with other departments as required regarding mine planning and operations, and metallurgy to assist with optimal mill performance;Support technical studies and mining economic assessments as required to support site growth, production targets and near-mine exploration;Design, assessment and review of all in-mine diamond drilling including planning of platforms, scheduling and risk assessment to the satisfaction of the Underground Manager;Ensure daily and monthly mine to mill reconciliations are monitored and completed;Development of direct and indirect reports within department for career progression and to satisfy succession planning;Ensure there is setting of clear accountabilities for direct reports and effective performance management where required. Day-to-day management of the geological function; andPromote, comply with, and demonstrate leadership with respect to Safety, Environmental and Community Relations Policies, Standards and Procedures.The Requirements:Bachelor of Science, Geology or equivalent;At least 10 years experience in the mining industry (majority underground) with solid exposure to base metals;Good leader and manager of a highly skilled team and direct reports;Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological tasks;Pragmatic approach to trouble shooting and problem solving;Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices;Strong mining software and technical writing skills; andAwareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.What Develop can offer:5:2, 4:3 RosterThe ideal candidate will reside locally, however, we are willing to discuss DIDO and FIFO options for the right candidateFull Time positionAn opportunity to be an integral part of an exciting project that will develop your geological and operational skillsAttractive Remuneration PackageEmployee Share SchemeSalary Sacrificing benefits including Superannuation and Novated LeasingNear new base metal mine and supporting infrastructure10-year mine life with plenty of opportunity for organic growth through additional geological drillingIf you are ready to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
