About the roleReporting to the Senior Underground Geologist, the Mine Geologist is responsible for the gathering, coordinating, and communication of all geological data at our Mungari underground mines.Working closely with the Senior and Project Geologist you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and coordination of diamond drilling, providing data for low-risk mine design and scheduling.Daily activities involve: Performing accurate detailed underground mapping and sampling.Mine data entry.Ore tracking.EOM and stope reconciliations.Daily visits to ROM pads to reconcile stockpiles.Carrying out detailed geological and structural core logging.Accepting responsibility for holes logged and the QA/QC validation of the drillholes.The Mine Geologist will naturally train and coach the Graduate Geologists.About youYou will either be a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area, or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12 hour day) roster.To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Geologist with prior mining geology experience and have the following attributes: Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geosciences.2-3 years industry experience – mine geology (underground preferred) and grade control practices.Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.Understanding of geology work standards and practices.Intermediate skills with modelling software (Datamine, Leapfrog or similar) and database software (acQuire or similar).Contractor management and familiarity with mine planning is an advantage.Effective communication and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills.What we offerAttractive salary package (QPB) + local living benefits.Salary packaging options including novated car leasing, and remote living costs.Complimentary life insurance and income protection.Future opportunities to work interstate and overseas.Referral bonuses available.At Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
