Catalyst Metals owns and operates the Plutonic Gold Mine in the Eastern Gascoyne region of Western Australia. The Company produces 110koz of gold annually from two operations – the Plutonic Gold Mine in WA & the Henty Gold Mine in Australia. It also holds the Four Eagles Gold Project in Bendigo.
The Company plans to bring four new mining areas at Plutonic into production over the next 12 to 18 months, growing Group production to 200koz of gold.

Working a 8:6 roster, departing from Perth you'll fly directly to Plutonic arriving within 90mins of departure. Once onsite you are accommodated in a well-established camp that boasts a substantial gym, squash courts, multipurpose court, pool, supportive social interactive space, ensuite rooms (no hotelling) …just to list some of the modern facilities.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Geologist – Mine, in this role you will be required to execute the planning, designing and scheduling of predominantly Underground Diamond/RC Drilling and produce the relevant reporting required. Tasks will also include performing underground and surface geological mapping and sampling activities (when required) including QAQC of drill data, plotting of results and measuring performance to facilitate the safe, efficient and cost-effective extraction and growth of the mineral reserve.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Plan, design, schedule and track geology drilling activities and programs to meet and comply with mine schedule.
Link and Sync the drilling activities in the most effective and efficient way with the mine operational activities to ensure constant efficient ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
Production duties could infrequently include core logging, mapping and sampling of underground faces.

Ideal candidates will have:

Bachelor of Science, majoring in Geology.
1-2 years minimum experience in a similar role.
Experience working within underground mining is essential (preferably gold).
Experienced in geology diamond drill planning, design, layouts, scheduling and tracking will be an advantage.
Proficiency using Vulcan and Leapfrog software will be beneficial.
Excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills.
Commitment to safety in the workplace.
