We are currently seeking an outstanding and experienced Geography/Commerce Teacher to join our collegial and dynamic Social Sciences Department from the start of Term 1, 2025.
This position reports to the Head of Social Sciences and ultimately the Principal.
The applicant must: satisfy the requirements of NESA to teach in NSW schools.have proven ability to teach Geography at a Senior level with HSC level experience.have extensive knowledge of the syllabus documents and underpinning pedagogical principles.possess a strong work ethic and organisational skills.be an outstanding classroom practitioner and demonstrate a diverse range of teaching approaches to cater to a range of learning abilities and styles.fulfil the pastoral role of Tutor within our house-based pastoral system and meet the social and emotional wellbeing needs of students.The ideal candidate would: possess outstanding experience as a teacher of Stages 4, 5 and 6 Geography/Commerce.demonstrate commitment to implement evidence-based and data-informed teaching practices.possess a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.have excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Social Sciences and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning.engage in professional learning, including contributing to the broader educational community.collaborate with and contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators.be willing to contribute to pastoral and co-curricular programs.Applicants should possess the following: Accredited 4 years of study at a recognised University or Higher Education institution in relevant subject/s with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), or a combined or double degree such as a Bachelor of Social Sciences /Bachelor of Education (Secondary) ORUndergraduate degree (such as a Bachelor of Social Sciences) and an accredited graduate entry teaching degree (such as a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Teaching (Secondary).Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at the level required of all school staff.If you are interested in applying for this position and possess a commitment to the education of young people, please submit your cover letter, curriculum vitae and the names of three professional referees.
