Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development) Full time Salary: $35/hour + weekend penalties & sleepover allowances
We are looking for a genuine, friendly and caring support worker to join our Mount Isa team.
RedDoor Community Services is a small niche NDIS provider specializing in going-the-extra-mile with our clients.
We custom-design care plans in consultation with clients and their stakeholders, to ensure they are empowered and engaged in their supports and life.
Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate an interest in our clients, and passion and care for supporting and inspiring others.Identify and engage clients who have disabilities (majority of existing clients have psychosocial disabilities) and may also have traumatic backgrounds.Undertake sleepover shifts and personal care for some shifts/clients.May include providing mentorship and employment supports for younger clients.Transport clients safely using RedDoor company vehicles.Take initiative to arrange meaningful activities and social outings, undertake acts of daily living, meal preparation, personal care and domestic duties for, or with, the client.Build positive relationships with clients, families, and community stakeholders.Maintain accurate client records for every appointment and undertake all electronic checklists required as part of the role.Qualifications, Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience in disability work, aged care, youth work, or a related field is desirable.Relevant qualifications in disability support work, aged care, youth work, or a related field will be advantageous but not essential.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to persevere with those who struggle with communication or connection.Ability to work independently, and cooperatively as part of a team.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Blue and yellow card clearance and current first aid.A valid driver's license.What we look forPassion for working with people and empowering them to reach their potential.Desire for personal growth and receptive to feedback.Willingness to adapt to changing needs of the organisation as we flex to accommodate our clients and staff the best we can.Understanding of the challenges faced by those with psychosocial disabilities, and disadvantaged youth.Cultural sensitivity and non-judgemental attitude.Willingness to learn new methods of support offered by RedDoor and MultiSkill Centre.What we offerHighly competitive hourly rates, penalties and allowances.Access to NFP salary packaging opportunities.Extensive online development available to do at your own pace.Mentoring in areas you require, rather than one-size-fits-all training.Use of company vehicles for transporting clients.The opportunity to focus on clients rather than bureaucracy with red tape.Supportive and inclusive team with open communication.Apply to join our crew!
