Our laboratory is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology and equipment, and is built to operate at scale, while ensuring high-quality fully NATA-accredited diagnostic genetics services. Genetics is a critical component of the future of Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology, a part of the international Sonic Healthcare group of medical companies.Testing encompasses preconception carrier screening, non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), relationship testing, comprehensive genomic profiling for cancer, testing for disease diagnosis and susceptibility, and pharmacogenomics. Established techniques range from PCR-based targeted methods through to more complex testing utilising massively parallel sequencing technologies.Position DescriptionA full-time position has become available for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic genetic scientist to assist in routine diagnostic testing in our Genetics Department at Macquarie Park. The successful applicant will join a large and highly motivated team of experienced scientists, senior scientists and genetic pathologists. The role will involve training and education opportunities and, over time, the successful applicant will gain experience in a range of molecular techniques.Ideal CandidateWe are proud to say we have a learning and supportive environment, and full training will be provided.
