Due to growth at Genesis, we are seeking Geology Technicians to assist geologists with the gathering, co-ordination, and communication of geological data for mine planning, exploration, and ore extraction at Genesis Minerals Operations.
In addition, the role is responsible for actively contributing to the performance of the Exploration Team, through demonstrated adherence and promotion of the Genesis values.
The opportunity: Reporting to the Geological Technician Supervisor, responsibilities of this role will include:
Accept responsibility for any drill hole processed and carry out and monitor QAQC of the processing ensuring delivery of quality mark-up, photography, and sampling including Specific gravity, that follow GMD procedures and meet the GMD standards. Perform exploration related activities as directed including RC and AC work, soil sampling, drill site preparation and rehabilitation activities. Ensure data entry is completed to a high standard to minimise errors using Excel and Log Chief software. Ensure effective coordination of core yard activities. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in work areas including sample preparation laboratory, light vehicles, and core yard. Support, promote, and contribute to business improvement initiatives. Carry out scheduled monthly safety audits/inspections. The Person: The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following criteria:
Driver's license (C Class, manual car) – essential; 2+ years employment history as a Geology Technician; Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures; Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks; High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals; Well-rounded technical and geology software skills.
