Location ProfileManor Lakes P-12 College opened in 2009 and is located in Minindee Rd, Wyndham Vale. The college currently has an enrolment of 3000 students, reflecting a cultural and socio-economic diversity. Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
SC2 Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning growth.
SC3 Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.
RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on the planning, preparation, and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Classroom teachers engage in critical reflection to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students.
Range 2 classroom teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes. Responsibilities include mentoring other teachers, providing expert advice on content and strategies, and assisting staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.
Range 1 classroom teachers focus on developing skills to become effective practitioners with structured support. Responsibilities include planning and teaching programs, classroom management, and participation in policy development.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individuals;Contributing to the development and evaluation of curriculum programs;Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
