ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently seeking applications for the permanent part-time role (60.80 hours per fortnight) of Generalist Counsellor located at our Wodonga office.
The purpose of this position is to provide professional and confidential counselling services in a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment to individuals 16 years plus (predominantly 25 and up). The Generalist Counsellor supports a wide range of clients towards improved mental health and well-being by applying a client-centred approach, working with clients' strengths, and drawing upon a robust array of evidence-based counselling and/or therapeutic models, skills, techniques, and modalities.
We are seeking a vibrant, passionate, understanding, and friendly individual who is committed to creating a welcoming and positive environment for clients to feel comfortable discussing their social, emotional, and behavioural concerns.
ABOUT YOU The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to build a strong foundation of trust and rapport with clients by being attentive, engaged, and providing a safe and non-judgemental space. Additionally, you will demonstrate clear and effective communication skills to provide information, guidance, support, and encouragement to clients.
A high level of organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to work equally well independently and in a team is highly desirable.
