Job Description - General Superintendent - Substations (260970)General Superintendent - Substations - 260970We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?The ProjectUGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes:500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites.This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced General Superintendent to join the team on the Copperstring Project.What will a day in this role look like:Early planning with local subcontractors and landownersOverall management of substation staff and contractorsManage anticipated release dates for access to work location and design information.Ability to coach, lead and manage a team and continue to team buildFacilitate any innovation concepts that can improve the project for all stakeholders.Connect with local communities and suppliers to maximise local business involvement in the project.Managing the project teams to accurately and timely deliver projects according to schedule, budget and scope.Overseeing the quality control throughout the project life cycle and ensuring we meet the project's objectives and deliverables.Focusing on acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members, ensuring that our clients' needs are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner whilst ensuring a safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance and sound business practices such as commercial, compliance, procurement, human resources and financials.The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.What are we looking for you to bring to the team:Minimum 15 years' electrical substation construction experience, with minimum 2 years as a superintendent.Trade Qualification - AQF Certificate IV in Construction (or equivalent).Managed self and resources to deliver work in excess of $200M.Ensuring right people with right tools are in place to manage logistics and deliver SWTC compliance (within accountability).Demonstrated commercial experience includes planning up to 3 months ahead and monitoring of cost and time of resources providing input to monthly forecasting (on project).Manage others in conducting SHEQ process and procedures and ensure SHEQ compliance (on project).Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, email.As part of the recruitment process, there are a number of checks which may be conducted to demonstrate an applicant's suitability for a role including police / criminal background checks, medical, drug and alcohol testing, due diligence checks, right to work checks, and/or reference checks.Primary LocationAustralia-QLD-Brisbane CBD & Inner SuburbsWork TypeFull-timeNeed assistance applying or registering?
