About the OpportunityWalhallow Aboriginal Corporation is seeking two full-time General Practitioners to join our team, one based in Quirindi, NSW and the other in Tamworth, NSW.
As a General Practitioner at WAC, you will play a vital role in delivering primary healthcare services to Aboriginal communities. Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will focus on high-quality clinical care, compliance, and community health initiatives.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Providing quality clinical care, including assessments, treatment, and preventative strategies tailored to the community's needsDeveloping and implementing GP management plans to support improved health outcomesSupporting the organisation's compliance with AGPAL accreditation and Medicare MBS requirementsParticipating in community-based initiatives such as school and corrections visitsSupervising clinical students and promoting skill development among staffCollaborating with allied health professionals and community stakeholders to address health challenges holisticallyAbout YouTo qualify, you will need AHPRA registration and a tertiary qualification in Medicine. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Practitioner will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Accreditation as a GP supervisor with ACCRM or RACGPExperience working in Aboriginal Health or community-controlled health servicesStrong knowledge of Aboriginal health, community health, preventative care, chronic disease management, and maternal healthKnowledge of AGPAL accreditation requirements and Medicare MBSProven ability to build and maintain relationships within Aboriginal communitiesA commitment to working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary model alongside nurses and Aboriginal health workersA valid Class "C" driver's licence and the ability to hold relevant security clearancesYour empathetic and team-oriented attitude, coupled with your desire to improve Aboriginal health outcomes, will make you an ideal candidate for this role. Experience working within community-controlled health services will be highly valued.
