We are currently seeking qualified, registered and experienced General Practitioners to join our Gippsland team on a full-time basis. YDHS provides the Yarram and surrounding communities with acute inpatient services, including Dialysis, Urgent Care, Residential Aged Care, Respite Care, Primary Health, Community Services and an integrated GP Healthcare Centre.

Initiate and be responsible for the clinical care and treatment of patients, particularly in the areas of general practice, emergency medicine, and general inpatient care and aged care residents.Conduct examinations and discuss symptoms, lifestyle and other factors to determine ailment, disorder or illness.Order laboratory tests, x-rays and other diagnostic procedures as required.Arrange patient management and monitoring in accordance with the best interests of the patient and with advice of the appropriate tertiary referral centres.Consult with other health service staff as required with respect to patient management and related issues.Document relevant clinical information legibly, concisely and accurately.Work closely with specialist practitioners, referring for treatment or obtaining critical information as required.Ensure that the appropriate post-discharge services are arranged in consultation with other health care professionals.Participate in the ongoing medical management of aged care residents as needed.Liaise with the other medical officers to ensure appropriate rosters to cover the facility.Actively participate in quality activities and the practice Accreditation process in accordance with standard practice.Provide and participate in appropriate educational activities for Nursing staff, Allied Health staff and community groups.Participation in research activities where required.Contribute to the overall strategic plan of the organisation.Review and investigate new technologies and equipment as required.Qualification & ExperienceTo be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
A relevant Medical Degree.Current Registration with the Medical Board of Victoria.Demonstrable experience in all responsibilities shown above.Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.FRACGP or demonstrable progress towards this or FACRRM.Excellent communication skills.Ability to work well within a team environment, interacting respectfully at all times.About CompanyThe Yarram and District Health Service (YDHS) originally commenced operation as the Yarram and District Hospital in 1917, later changing its name in 1993 to reflect the multi-purpose facility it is today.
