A valid Working with Children Check and Police check is mandatory to work in this organisation. GEGAC was originally established in 1975 to support and develop the Aboriginal Medical Service and also as an Aboriginal culture centre.
GEGAC was established when the local Aboriginal men and women decided that the East Gippsland region needed services specific to the Aboriginal people to fill the void and address the lack of understanding about Aboriginal issues.
