This is a contingent position based upon contract award. What You'll DoIn the role of General Practitioner, your duties will include: Providing medical services comparable to such services and coverage as provided by the USG Facility Medical Officer (FMO) during clinic hours of operation and "after hours" coverage, as necessary.Obtaining health history and performing physical examinations.Diagnosing and directing counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.Prescribing medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.Maintaining a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.Assuring continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis.Providing excellent internal/external customer service to assist patients with their health care needs.Arranging referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.Reviewing incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG), signing, dating and following-up in a timely manner.Assisting in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.Assisting in outside medical public relations functions.Requirements:Must be an Australian citizen.
Must possess a license to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPR).
Must have a minimum of five years of experience as a general practice physician.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400-acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
