This well-established clinic opened in 1966 and has a loyal and diverse patient base. The practice was started by a group of 3 local doctors and was located at 187 Mary Street, Gympie. Over the years, a series of doctors and owners have come and gone. A detailed history of all the names and associated timelines is available at our practice. This record is of great interest to the many people who have been associated with the practice in some way. In 1996 Dr George Springall and his wife Kim purchased The Medical Centre. George retired in 2019. In 1999 Gympie recorded a record flood in the Mary River, affecting the Practice premises in Mary Street. In 1999 the Medical Centre relocated to 41 Channon Street. Dr Bryan Brink is the current practice Principal. Bryan and his wife Tertia joined the practice as partners with Dr Springall and Kim in 2003. Bryan and Tertia became the sole owners of the practice in 2020. Position Description: Seeking a Full Time General Practitioner Availability Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 5.30 pm, rotational Saturday approx. 1 in 5 for AM hours only. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor of Medicine AHPRA registration FRACGP – Preferred Job Type: Permanent - Full Time (36 hours per week). Salary Information: Percentage of Billings About Gympie: Gympie is a beautiful country town with a population around 50,000 people and the area is growing fast due to the location. Only 1 hour from the Sunshine Coast, 45 minutes from Noosa and 45 minutes to Rainbow beach. Gympie has a mix of demographics, from young family to retirees. This is a great place to raise a family, and settle down. The area is in great need for more General practitioners. This year 7 senior GP's have retired , so the area is in need of a new injection of young GP's who are wanting to establish a practice and build their patient base. A vibrant multi-cultured regional beautiful town ideal for families. The town boasts excellent schools and great family entertainment facilities for all ages.
